Happy 30th Birthday Alan!!!!!!

Today was Alan's 30th birthday! I think he had a good day! My sister Stephanie and her boyfriend Travis came over to watch the babies for us so we could have an adult fun day.We left after the babies went down for their first nap. We started by going to the credit union to add Alan to my account. Ohhhh hold us back we are crazy!

Then we decided to go to Peace Valley Park and go kayaking. We rented a double kayak. We bobbed and weaved quite a bit, but we had fun. After that we went home to shower and change.

We had a very nice lunch at Red Lobster. We then decided to look at cell phones. Didn't get anything though. Then we decided to walk around the mall some before we went to the movies. We went to see Toy Story 3. I loved it! It was very cute. I can't wait till it comes out on dvd so we can get it!

We ended our night back at home having pizza and cake with my sister and Travis. Fun filled day! :)

x-ray update

Last Friday the 23rd the boys went in for their x-rays of their hips. They needed to have this done to check for hip displasia(sp) due to being breech. I was a little worried about Nathan since he is constantly in the "froggy" position. Their results both came back normal! Yay! :)

Whip cream anyone?

Before the babies I used to work at a day care. One of the things we used to do in the infant and toddler room was put them in the high chairs and let them play with shaving cream. They would drive trucks through it and just make a nice mess. It's fun for them and a good sensory activity. Well I didn't want my guys putting shaving cream in their mouths so we decided to try whip cream. It's mostly air so why not! I am also trying to get them to learn to put food in their mouths and I thought this might help.

So I put a squirt on everyone's tray. They jumped a little at the sound of the whip cream spraying. Paige dove right in and started playing. Nathan looked at it and then me like what do you want me to do with that? Levi did the same as Nathan. We then took their hands and put it in the whip cream. I also gave them eat a taste. Pretty soon Paige and Levi were going to town. Nathan wanted nothing to do with it. Oh well maybe next time :)

tutu envy :)

My sister decided she wanted to wear Paige's tutu!

Tutu

I made Paige her first tutu today. I see them all the time online and I decided to try making one myself. It was surprisingly easy and didn't take me very long. I might have found a new way to make some extra cash! :) Anyone want a tutu? hehe.

Our first injury!

And it's not the kids! :) Haha. Tonight we were feeding the trio their dinner. They were starting to get fussy in their highchairs waiting for their turn to get a bite of food. Well Alan decided to play peek-a-boo using our dining room table to "hide" behind. Well he was coming up to say boo and I'm sure you can guess what happened.....Thwack! Right on the top of his head! He hit it pretty hard too. He now has a nice red horn on the top of his head. And being the big, strong, man that he is......he hasn't stopped complaining about it and wondering if he has a concussion. :) Love him! I think he is fine since he is in the basement playing his guitar and singing. I am going to try to get a pic....but no promises!

Tomorrow we are taking the boys for x-rays of their hips. Since they were breech they told us at 6 months they would do x-rays. Of course it took me a while to make the appointment but hey I eventually did it right!? So hopefully it goes well tomorrow and they both come back fine. I'm a little concerned about Nathan because he tends to keep his legs "frog" like when laying down and that's something they look for. We shall see.

Picture time!

I just wanted to post some pictures of me cute trio! Enjoy :)
Pool time, then all 3 playing, My big boy Levi sitting, and Paige on a sit and spin....and she spun it herself!

Sippy cups

So we decided now that they are 7 months we would give sippy cups a try. Levi and Paige took to them nicely. They don't tip them yet but they get them to their mouths. Nathan however couldn't be bothered with this. He turns his head away when I try to help him. When I put it in front of him he either ignores it or knocks it over. We have only been at it a couple of days though so we just need practice! Here are pics from our first encounter!

We have 2 sitters!

Paige has pretty much mastered sitting all by herself. You can now just plunk her down with some toys and she is happy as can be. Well Levi has now joined her. He is still practicing and needs a spotter but he is doing really well. The 2 of them played together today it was very cute. And by played together I mean Levi trying to play with toys and Paige taking them away from him! Now we just need to work on Nathan. He make take a little longer seeing as he is on his own schedule. I have to say I am really enjoying seeing them learn new things.

Levi also says Ma now. I love it. He said Ma first! It's also funny how he says it. It's more like mmmmmma. He holds the M a little longer and does a short A. I love hearing him say Ma and I can't wait for them all to start saying Ma and Da. :)

Here is a pic of my solo sitters and one of all 3 with me helping Nathan.

Tubby time

On Monday we started a new routine. We are now doing baths in the big tub! I have been thinking about doing this for a while. Nathan was getting too big for the baby tub in the kitchen sink. Between that and he is heavy and slippery when wet I decided it was time for us to graduate to the upstairs tub.

I spent the afternoon getting everything ready. I cleaned the bath ring. We have 2 but I wanted the first bath to be one on one. I got some toys out and then I had to bring most of our other bath stuff upstairs. When I went to put the bath ring in the tub the suction cups don't stick! I was a little upset by this. So I tried to put a bath mat down in the tub that we got as a gift. This also did not stick. Apparently the bottom of the tub already has a non stick like surface so suction cups don't stick. This stinks because now I can't use 2 bath rings. If they lean a certain way they can topple right over. So we will be waiting for the time that they can all sit up well to do baths together.

I also made a small playroom in our bedroom for the 2 that are waiting in the wings for their bath. I put a blanket upstairs and some toys from the playroom they had never seen before. So far it seems to be working.

Nathan was first. He is funny because he always studies new things before he will interact. He sat just looking at the water for the longest time. Eventually he started kicking his legs having a good old time.

Then came Levi. He was all smile from the moment I put him in the tub. He of course is the one who almost tipped over trying to get a toy.

Paige was last. She decided she was going to eat her washcloth the whole time. After her washcloth snack she started using her hands and did a little splashing.

All in all it was fun. It takes more time now to bathe them but that's because we play in the tub now. After I wash them, I take them out of the bath ring and hold them sitting in the tub so they can play. I am liking this new routine so far. On non bath nights we are going upstairs to play as well so we keep a regular bedtime routine. Someday I would like to do baths every night. Maybe when they are able to all bathe together. We shall see. Here are some pics of our first big tub bath! :)

7 Months Old!

The trio is 7 months old today! Time sure does fly! They are all doing very well. I don't have any weights to share so I'm going to go over what they are up to.

Levi- He is still my little pistol. He wants to be the center of attention. He can roll both ways. He only chooses to roll to his belly to sleep, rarely to play. He can roll from belly to back but most of the time he just fusses to be rolled back over. Or picked up. :) We are working on learning to sit unassisted with him. He would rather stand instead. He tends to be difficult to be put to sleep. You have to get him at just the right time and he will go down without a problem. Otherwise he screams and fusses for a while. He is a little chatterbox as well. He just babbles on and on and loves when you mimic him. :)

Nathan- My little shy guy. He loves to play coy with you. You can talk to him and he will smile and look away. He is quick to smile and laugh and whenever he laughs you just laugh along with him. He loves to "feel" things. He reaches out to "pet" your clothes, face, his toys, the wall, ect. He can roll from him belly to his back. We are working on back to belly. He has gotten 3/4 of the way over before he flips back. Every time we see this we think "this is it!" but then it isn't. We are also working on sitting. He has also discovered he can scream and squeal. He sounds like a little girl. :)

Paige- She is the princess. She makes a lot of weird noises as well as screaming and squealing. It almost seems like every day she has come up with a new sound. Silly girl. She is my roller. Almost as soon as you put her down she is on her belly exploring. She doesn't go forwards yet but she can move in a circle around. I am just waiting for her to figure out how to get up on her hands and knees. She also is great at sitting. She has even started using her hands to catch herself from falling. She also likes to stand up and play.

They all prefer to sit and play now. We do bumbo time almost every day and rotate them around to a couple of different things. When we lay them on the playmat now they don't stay there very long now. It just doesn't amuse them as much. They would rather play in the jumper or something that they can look around in. Here they are in their 7 month pictures!

Puffs

So we tried puffs for the fist time on Wednesday. It didn't go over too well. Nathan and Levi threw up. Paige did ok but we had to keep popping the little puff piece back in her mouth. The next time we tried they did a little better. At least nothing came back up! Today we tried the yogurt melts. They loved them! They did really well and kept looking for more. Now I just need to work on them picking them up themselves!

Paige is doing great with sitting up. She is even starting to catch herself sometimes if she starts to fall. She is such a big girl! :) Nathan is being stubborn and refuses to turn all the way over. He gets 3 quarters of the way over and then rolls back. Stinker! Levi rolls if he feels like it. We are working on sitting with him. He gets distracted too easily though and topples over. It's a work in progress.

Doug (Alan's old college buddy) came to visit and meet the babies this week. He came on Wednesday and is leaving tomorrow. Yesterday we spent the day in Philly. It was fun but hot. Today was a lazy day at home. Tonight Alan had a gig for his band so they all went to that. Well thats all for now. Bedtime :)

Big tub time

I have come to the conclusion that it is time to move upstairs and start bathing in the big tub. I have decided this for many reasons. The first reason being that Nathan is too big for the little tub in the sink. The second reason is because Nathan is getting heavy and I'm afraid I might drop him when transferring him from the tub to his towel on the stove. He is slippery when wet and very wiggly now. The third reason is because Paige has decided that she wants to try to sit up in the tub and well she can't because of the type of tub we have.

I am unsure yet how I am going to go about a new tub time routine. I need to decide if I want to use the tub rings for all of them or perhaps use the sponge and let Nathan lay down seeing as he isn't as strong sitting up yet. I think I might try the ring with all of them to see how they do and go from there. I have a little time to figure it out though. Alan's friend Doug is coming this week to see the babies (and us) so I think I will start this on Monday of next week. It will be right after they turn 7 months! :)

Today was a different day for me. Alan had to work (not so different) and my Mom usually is here when Alan is not. Today she just came for the morning because she had a picnic to go to. So it was just me from 11ish till 4:30, when Alan got home. He is working extra long shifts the next couple of days so he could take time off when Doug was here. It went rather well. Of course I decided I was going to work on cleaning our bedroom while they took their afternoon nap. Well Levi must have sensed that because he wanted nothing to do with napping in his crib. We have a pack and play set up in our room for when he gets in these moods so he doesn't keep the other 2 up with his screaming. So of course I put him in our room and he goes right to sleep. Little stinker. So now I will hopefully get to work on it tomorrow. If not well it will just be a mess! I would have done it tonight but a headache kept me from it. oh well. Time to go make their bottles for tomorrow and then off to bed.

On to our pictures for today. I have been meaning to get pictures of them napping. I finally remembered to take the camera up one day last week. When looking back at the photos I realized Nathan still has his eyes a little open but I'm pretty sure he was asleep! Also Paige kicks her feet before she goes to sleep so thats why her little feet look like they are in the air. Cause they are! :)

Happy 4th of July

Just wanted to say happy 4th of July! We had a very nice 4th. We took the kids to my parents house. It threw them off a little bit, but we had fun. Nathan and Paige went swimming (Levi was napping) They really like swimming! I am really glad, because when I was growing up it's something we did every summer and loved it! After they went swimming Alan and I went to my friend Shannon's house for a picnic. She lives in Quakertown and has a great view of the fireworks from her house. My sister's took care of the kids and put them to bed for us. :) It was a very nice night. Well off to bed for me. I have a cute picture of Nathan in his sunglasses that his Grammy bought him. The boys have finally grown into them but Paige's are still a little to big for her head. Some day! :)

101 in 1001: 5 finished so far!

Here is an update on my 101 in 1001. If you are unsure of what I am talking about go back to my very first post and that will explain it all :) So far I have had professional pictures taken of the babies, I organized all of their clothes, the babies have met all 3 of their great-grandmother's, we had the babies baptized, and we started solids when they reached 5 months. I am working on a couple others currently but I know they are going to take time. The biggest time consumer being the unpacking and organizing of all of our stuff. To most this would not take too much time. To me I am lucky I can take an hour here and there to try to do this. Now of course I am sure I could find more time if I tried (like right now instead of blogging) but lets face it I like my down time just like everyone else. I need to fulfill my facebook time as well as my bump time. :)

On another note I need to vent for just a second. I like the 4th of July just like everyone else. Is it truly necessary to set off fireworks every night for the past week? I am so tired of hearing the pops every night of someone in my neighborhood setting off fireworks. Thank goodness the babies sleep right through it. The baby monitor picks it up so I know they can hear it in their room. Ok vent over.

I think for tonight's picture we are going to go for something a little less recent. We will call it vintage trio if you will. :) And yes I am in this pic. Be afraid be very afraid!
